Anime News: Izuku Midoriya’s Quirk Has Been Registered with a Unique Name

The third season to the widely popular anime series, My Hero Academia has caused quite a stir since its premier on April 7. Specifically, My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) Season 3 Episode 39 mostly recapped on a majority of the events in the past two seasons. However, one event that has sparked some concern was the registered name of Izuku Midoriya’s quirk.

For those who have followed this series from the beginning, it is already known that Midoriya was bestowed with All Might’s special quirk, “One for All”. This quirk essentially gives Midoriya a wide range of powerful techniques that are clearly identical to All Might’s. In addition, All Might expressed to Midoriya to keep their relationship a secret, mainly because he is severely injured and news of their partnership could spread to the Villain Alliance.

It now appears that even UA doesn’t even know of All Might’s relationship with Midoriya. Visibly in My Hero Academia Episode 39, Eraser gave a recap on the quirks and abilities of Class 1-A. When he got to Midoriya, he labeled his quirk, “Superpower”. As trivial as this sounds, there is some room for concern for fans of the popular anime series.

To start, how long can Midoriya keep this secret from UA and the Villain Alliance? There is already a growing suspicion that All Might and Midoriya share a unique bond, so how long will it take for the other characters to learn about the true nature of Deku’s quirk. Also, how long will it be before Midoriya shows his similarity to All Might?

As the third season’s first episode suggests, all of the characters in My Hero Academia are completely oblivious to Deku’s acquired quirk. However, this secret could come to light soon and will likely have severe implications for Midoriya, All Might, UA, and the rest of the world.
